The world is dominated by life-long learners: the people who take the time to learn everything they can about their chosen field and everything they can about corresponding subjects. The 400 most successful businesspeople “the Forbes 400″ attribute most of their success to reading at least one non-fiction book a month. But when you have a family and work wants to dominate your time, carving out the time to read all those books can be difficult. New books on every subject are being published every day. How is one supposed to keep up at work or school, spend time with family and find time to read ten to fifteen extra books a year?

You can’t add hours to your day, but you can reduce the time it takes to read those books. Learning to speed read is the answer. Cutting your reading time in half or even more would give you the ability to simply devour the books you always wanted to read, the books you know you should read, and the ones you need to read to get ahead.

Raise Your Companies Market Value Using Earthenware Promotional Mugs

Posted in Other - Business & Finance on April 25th, 2009 by Montgomery Preston – Be the first to comment

Promotional mugs have become more popular lately. Mugs have an outward appeal and are useful in nature. They vary in shapes, sizes, and materials, making it the most well rounded tool in marketing. Designs can range from exotic to conservative, appealing to all companies needs and budgets.

Earthenware, the most commonly used ceramic material, is used extensively in the production of these promotional mugs. After giving them a desired shape with hand or a tool, the ceramic based object is baked in a kiln. This is followed by the application of a layer of glaze to cover its pores and hence making it suitable to hold liquids. The glaze comprises of different chemicals depending on the desired colour and property. The most commonly added chemical is cobalt oxide for a blue touch. The beauty of a ceramic ware lies in its finished appearance which gives a shimmering effect due to the protective glaze.

The quality and the fact that it can be moulded into any desired shape easily adds to the long list of features that an earthenware promotional mug enjoys. The most traditional artisans used their hands to bring the perfect turns to such mugs before baking them. Though a lot of tools and techniques have come up for their shaping, new age technology has still not been able to beat the perfection of the handmade products.

While the most preferred method of decorating these baked basic mugs is printing, which is very common, hand painting still attracts more people as it gives a more natural feel to it. Almost all major printing methods like screen-printing, transfer printing and dye sublimation are applicable to the ceramic mugs. To add a little classy effect to it, you may get them embossed or get some laser etching done on them. The frosted effect is also gaining a lot of popularity these days.

With all these special effects and the metallic coatings, the promotional mugs are sure to raise your profit margins.

Save Jaw Dropping Amounts Of Cash With A Mortgage Overpayment Calculator

Posted in Other - Business & Finance on April 25th, 2009 by Monty Burn – Be the first to comment

A mortgage overpayment calculator lets you know how much you can save by paying a bit extra each month. If you can afford it.

The general theme is to pay extra on your monthly mortgage payments. Pay 600 instead of 500 if you can.

The savings made at the end may stagger you. We’re talking thousands saved and years knocked off.

As every mortgage deal is slightly different it’s hard to give examples for your figures. You should put your figures into an overpayment calculator and see your own results.

As a general example though if you had a hundred thousand mortgage and had a 5% interest rate, you’d be paying about 580 a month.

Instead of 580, pay 680 a month and the example mortgage is shortened by 6.3 years and saves about 20k in interest.

Add into that you don’t have to pay anything for the last 6 years of an original 25 year deal.

I think that you should most certainly make overpayments if you can. The interest saved snowballs into huge savings later on.

If we were to pay 200 extra per month instead of 100 as another example. Difficult to do but well worth it if you could.

You could save nearly 10 years off the length and save somewhere near thirty two thousand by paying this 200 a month. They are great savings, both in time and money.

Another benefit to paying extra and getting the mortgage over with early is the fact you aren’t paying anything for the years you save. And that can add up to a lot of money saved.

If you were paying 580 a month and you could knock 6 years off, you wouldn’t have to shell out another 40 grand!

All these savings are going in your pocket and that’s got to be appealing.

Over the years we’ve been manipulated into thinking we have to be stuck with 25 year mortgages, but this is just lies and rumour put out by the lenders.

If you won the lottery you wouldn’t keep the mortgage on just ’cause you’d signed up for 25 years. So the same goes for the overpayments, you can reduce the length.

Mind you, your lender won’t want you to know all this!

Profitable Google Adword Campaign Management Means Managing Your Website First

Posted in Other - Business & Finance on April 25th, 2009 by George Curtis – Be the first to comment

Are you like most of the people who begin their Google Adwords campaign at Google’s website and not their own? They sign up for an account, load up some keywords, and sit back and wait for the sales to come in. But many times, unless they already have a high-converting website to begin with, this strategy will only accelerate failure.

Now don’t get me wrong. I am the first person to tell you that a great tactic for testing your website conversion percentages is to use a Google Adwords campaign to drive immediate traffic to your site; but there IS one catch to this strategy. You have to be TESTING. If you haven’t done something to your website – in other words, if you haven’t changed a headline, an order button, a color, or something…then what variable are you going to be testing against?

If you are already failing miserably at getting people to buy something from you, then in your case, throwing thousands of dollars into Google Adwords may be futile. However, what I notice is that most companies are somewhere in between this scenario. That is, they have a decent website with an acceptable level of conversions and they use Google Adwords to drive more traffic to that site in the hopes of making more money. And some of them are hugely successful in spite of themselves.

But what if you spent a little money to “fix” your website. Maybe you need an updated logo and a fresh website design. Next, you need to make sure that your web pages are actually relevant to what your visitors are searching for. Maybe you need to consult a professional who knows a little about SEO (search engine optimization) and can help you come up with good, optimized copy and a smooth presentation with a strong call to action. For the sake of discussion, let’s say that you can get all of this for $2,000.

So you spend $2,000, but here is what you get back. First of all, Google will “see” these changes and determine that your site is more relevant than it used to be. If you are doing other things correctly in your Adwords campaign, you will be rewarded with a lower price per click. But that’s not all. Because your site is now more relevant, Google has a tendency to reward that relevancy with higher organic rankings. “Organic’ listings are the FREE listings that are underneath and to the left of the paid ads. Keeping in mind that if paid clicks cost you $5, it does not take a rocket scientist to deduce that 400 free visitors to your site brings you to break-even on your website expenditures ($2,000 / $5).

But don’t forget…your click cost with Google will more than likely drop as well – so you get the best of BOTH worlds – lower paid clicks and more free clicks. What? You already have an Adwords campaign management company and they haven’t worked with you on your website? Or you have been managing your own campaign and haven’t ever heard about this strategy? Or did you formerly use Google Adwords, but gave up because you couldn’t make the numbers work for you?

These days, competition is fierce and it takes a lot more than just clever bidding and deep keyword research to become successful in search marketing programs, such as Google Adwords. It takes what we at AbsolutelyDominate.com call the “total package”, which includes not only knowing how to use Google’s website, but how to structure your OWN website as well. If you can master these two with efficiency, then you, my friend, are going to be successful in managing a profitable Google Adwords campaign.

How Speed Reading Works

Posted in Other - Business & Finance on April 25th, 2009 by Dr. Jay Polmar – Be the first to comment

ACCELERATION THROUGH PACING:

Various hand movements can cause acceleration of reading speed. We are about to introduce you to several hand movements that will accelerate your reading ability. Try each one and see which suits you best.

It’s simple. Just replace all your bad reading habits with one easily learned one: You’ll use your pacing hand. It breaks each of these habits automatically while it increases your reading speed.

The basic pacing movement uses your index finger of your dominant hand, i.e. right handed use right hand, to scan a line by running your finger under the type you are reading. Always turn the page with the unused, non-dominant hand. Don’t move your head, keep it still.

The method is easy. You’ll replace all your bad habits with one easily learned one: You’ll use your pacing hand. Here’s how to break each of these habits automatically while increasing your reading speed.

We did experiments in Hawaii, New Mexico, Florida, and elsewhere. It appears that those with the slowest speaking rates have naturally slow reading rates. With this method, your speaking rate will no longer restrict your reading speed. You will read as fast as you can think. Yes, you can read as fast as your mind can work.

To understand this concept, you must understand that you’ve got this nemesis, an inner voice who is reading to you in silent speech and then it goes into your brain. We did experiments in Hawaii, Texas, New Mexico, Florida, and elsewhere. It appears that those with the slowest speaking rates have naturally slow reading rates. With this method, your rate of speech won’t limit your reading speed. You can read as fast as you can think. What I am saying is you can read as fast as your mind can work.

Begin pacing across a line faster than you can form the sounds in your throat:

Extend your index finger, close all others. As you notice I’ve indicated a hand holding a pencil earlier to use for pacing. That can come later. Use you index finger as a beginner Speed reading student.

You’ll be reading twice as fast as you ever have. You’ll retain valuable information and increase your comprehension and improve your grades.
